Pacific ENT uses a variety of examination methods to determine if you have hearing loss, what type of hearing loss you have, and the extent of the loss. Most of these tests require you to listen for certain sounds and respond in a specific way. However, some hearing tests may not require a response.
A hearing aid is a small device that helps you hear better. Most hearing aids include three parts: a microphone, amplifier, and speaker. Sounds enter the hearing aid through the microphone, where they’re converted to an electrical signal. This signal is sent to the amplifier, where it’s made louder. Finally, the signals reach your ear through the speaker.
